Sizing Up

This day and age it’s impossible to find clothes. Especially if you are a plus sized woman. And when you do find that perfect skirt in a 2X it’s going to cost you 2 times the amount a Medium would. Women are supposed to empower each other. We are supposed to raise each other up. Not push the Plus size to the bottom and Skinny to the top. ​Why does everything have to be so different for women. Why does every big store only carry up to a Large or Extra Large. Why can’t women who wear a Small stand up for someone who wears a 3X. 

Women in this world are mostly plus sized. They are mostly a Large or Extra Large. But because company’s don’t want to spend the extra money trying to accommodate to those sizes we get the bottom of the barrel. Plus sized women have to shop at Old Navy or JCPenney. And while those stores have some cute clothes… we would rather be shopping at Forever 21 or H&M. Where all the stylish clothes are. 

And a lot of the time plus sized women feel embarrassed because all their friends want to shop at those stylish stores while we have our hands in our pockets. Because all we can look at are purses or hats. We can’t buy that pair of jeans because our thighs are too big. 

As women we need to support everyone. We need to support the size 0 Women and the size 28 Women. We need to accommodate for those who have bigger thighs. We need to make jeans that can fit those with a big butt and those who don’t. We need to regulate the costs for both of those women. So then each woman can feel empowered in her own way.
