People tell me all the time “Elizabeth, you’re so beautiful.” But I am always like “Yeah, right.” I know I’m not the only one. Sometimes accepting compliments is hard because you yourself don’t believe them. That’s not something that you mean to do, you have just seen so many magazines, movies, tv shows, and etcetera that you have put yourself down so much that you don't believe them.
But let’s be honest here guys, we don’t need the makeup, jewelry, fancy clothes, hair dyes to make us beautiful! If we are beautiful on the inside it will show through. We can’t continue to put ourselves done. We will never love ourselves if we do. No more of that “If I lose this weight I’ll be more pretty”, “If I put this makeup on and hide my beautiful freckles I’ll be more pretty”, “If I wear these skin tight shorts that show half my butt guys will find me more attractive.” That needs to be left in 2018.
We are all beautiful, we don’t need our clothes, makeup, or jewelry to decide that. If makeup makes you feel pretty do it I’m not saying it’s a bad thing. But when you do it because feel pretty in only that way, that’s when it becomes a problem. You’re beautiful please don’t forget it.
Boys I didn’t forget about you! You have such high expectations as well. “If you cry you're not manly enough” please never believe that. Real men cry. If you think that man buns are what’s gonna get you a girlfriend, and your ugly without it, that’s a lie from the pit of lies! Your body type is more real than Zac Efron’s! You don’t need to have an 8-pack to be a “man”. You don’t need to have tattoos all over your body to be “cute”. Yeah it’s cool if you like it but if you’re doing it to fit in, it’s fake.
Don’t let this world tear you down, we have so much things that we do. “Girl power yassss girl” but what about “yasss man looking good!”? We have so much support for woman but we rarely support men. We push them and push them into a back corner until they feel as if they can’t express themselves. They get “scared” to be themselves when they are at their best being who they are. I love all of you guys! No matter the body type, gender, race, hair color, ect. Everyone is beautiful!
